Which Grizzly benchtop jointer fits the job?

Start with the G0945 when six-inch width and traditional straight knives match the work. The shared Grizzly family manual lists two knives and a 30-inch table. The G0946 keeps the six-inch, 30-inch format but changes the maintenance decision to 12 indexable HSS cutters. What do DeWalt and Makita search results mean?

DeWalt identifies the DW735 as a thickness planer. It is not a substitute listing for a benchtop jointer. The company also lists the DW682K plate joiner, which belongs to the biscuit-slotting category. Similar names can therefore return products with entirely different functions even within the same brand.

Makita identifies the PJ7000 as a plate joiner. If a search for a Makita benchtop jointer surfaces that model, recognize the category mismatch before following the offer. Are Powermatic and Ridgid examples benchtop machines?

Powermatic’s 54A is a six-inch jointer with long tables and a stand-based configuration.
